Fall Palette

today’s closetcast: playing favorites

I am loving that fall is calling for a pastel, washed-out palette as I am usually drawn to these colors, despite the cooler temperatures. I have never been one to wear standard bold fall colors. I picked up these Kai-Aakman pants at my favorite boutique in town, Cameron Marks. Though not a favorite with my fella, I personally love a harem pant and these were no exception. Luxurious fabrics and the perfect fit – I do not regret this purchase one bit!!

What do you guys think?

Wore this outfit earlier in the week as a way to look halfway polished but with more of a focus on staying cool in this fall heat. The title of this post, “Rusty”, has to do with the way I feel about blogging these days! I’m looking forward to getting back into a routine, but for now, I feel a bit rusty.

Much of this outfit is comprised of old favorites that work well during this transitional period from summer to fall. I love the lightweight fabric of this blazer and the warm fall tone.

What do you all have planned this weekend? Do tell!! XO

Hope everyone had a wonderful vacation/holiday. Now it’s back to the grind! I like to ease into it, especially with my wardrobe, so I kept it simple today with some comfortable flats and a favorite tee. It’s always nice to introduce variations of those wardrobe staples though, so I did that here with some studded loafers and a striped nautical tee. Add a layered rhinestone necklace and my look doesn’t look like an afterthought.

Here’s to a short (and quick) week back!! Thanks so much for reading!! XOXO

I thought to close out 2012 and to welcome 2013 with open arms, I would do a post of some of my favorite looks from 2012. I’m excited about the year ahead and hope all of you are looking forward to more posts from this “fashionable girl weathering daily style storms”.

Thank you again!! XOXOXO

today’s closetcast: on the up and up

Happy Halloween everyone! What is everyone dressing up as tonight? I unfortunately will be sitting in class this evening so no festivities for me.

Regarding this outfit, it was a bit chilly this morning. I was going to sport this skirt sans tights, but the second I stepped outside I ran back in for a quick change. This skirt is pretty fun don’t you think? I love the reversible pattern. I thought it looked great with a nice sweater layered over it for a complete fall look.
