How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was pretty good – we had a brush of rain which was actually welcomed and kept the vacationers at bay in our little beach town.

Picked up this dress from Asos and absolutely love it. Now that waistbands have become somewhat of an enemy, a swing dress in a cozy cotton fabric was a definite welcome. The fleece material is just thick enough to get through these chilly days in spring and comfortable enough to feel like my favorite sweatshirt.

Here’s wishing everyone a wonderful week! Thanks for reading! XO

Happy New Year to all of my amazing and supportive readers! All of you make blogging so much fun and I look forward to your comment and likes every single day!

I thought to close out 2012 and to welcome 2013 with open arms, I would do a post of some of my favorite looks from 2012. I’m excited about the year ahead and hope all of you are looking forward to more posts from this “fashionable girl weathering daily style storms”.

Thank you again!! XOXOXO

The Day After…

today’s closetcast: brisk and bright

The day after a holiday weekend always feels a bit bogged down doesn’t it? Me and the fella took a trip down to Santa Barbara to see family for a couple days, which is always nice. We hit up my favorite Mexican spot, La Super-Rica, picked a few favorites off the menu, then drove up to Shoreline Park to sit on a bench and unintentionally taunt the gulls with our delicious lunch. The trip down south is always a bit too short, but the weather in sunny southern Cali is definitely different from the chill that welcomed us home.
I’m so sorry for the lack of posts last week, it was a crazy week and the weather wasn’t fully cooperating. It looks like it might be more of the same here with rain in the forecast from Wednesday until Sunday. I’ll have to get a bit more creative with my posts.

Thanks so much for your patience! I didn’t do a Thanksgiving post, but just wanted to say I am thankful for all of my 2100+ readers! WOW! SO amazing!

Be sure to check out my Facebook page here (and give me a “LIKE”!) for fun and short posts throughout the week! XOXO

Mint and Rust

today’s closetcast: swirly

Today I mixed two colors, mint and rust, that you wouldn’t think would work well together, but it does. What do you think?

Picked up this sweater at H&M recently. It’s always a fun place to go for fall sweaters. This one was so unique and popped out at me immediately – and didn’t hurt the budget.

Today is the release of the Maison Martin Margiela x H&M collaboration. I didn’t bother trying to brave the crowds. I love some of the pieces, but fighting crowds of people to grab whatever you can sort of turns me off on the whole experience. I also find, if you’re patient, you can get some of the pieces via eBay for around the same price.

What are everyone’s weekend plans? I am looking forward to a stormy weekend – we’ve been without rain for a while now, and I am so looking forward to a nice storm! XOXO

Solo

today’s closetcast: slight chill

A brisk Wednesday morning, but I still opted for bare legs and booties. I love this Opening Ceremony skirt, worn before here, funky and oh so warm! It’s perfect and made skipping the tights seem a little less crazy. The t-shirt is an impulse buy from H&M and is one of those $17 dollar “investments” that I think will go a long way. Love the rhinestone collar. My trusty Rachel Comey booties have returned again – I swear I will have these forever. Now, I have my eye on these babies… Rachel Comey boots are the best. They are perfect for my narrow feet and are just SOOO comfortable. I can’t say enough about them! Pricey but worth it – and you’ll have them forever.
