Sorry for the brief hiatus, last week was so busy that I just didn’t have time to get a post up! I hope you guys have enjoyed the past week. I am focusing on comfort these next few days as I am dealing with a teething baby and am absolutely exhausted!

I picked up these shoes *quickly on Asos and am so thankful I didn’t think twice. I love how they are essentially your basic slip-on but in the unique mesh material and bold black and white contrast make them feel a little dressier than the norm. The top is from Japan and was from one of my favorite mall stops, Lowry’s Farm.

More posts to come this week! Stay tuned! XO

Way to Blue

today’s closetcast: from a distance

Just your basic pair of off white khakis and a t-shirt right? Not quite, as these slouchy pants are by the ever luxurious Theyskens’ Theory and are the softest leather. Not so basic after all. After coveting these for months, I found them on eBay for literally a fraction of the original price and seriously thought it was a scam. But when they arrived in the mail, I realized I just lucked out.

Was feeling that shades of blue complemented these best, and well, any excuse to carry my Clare Vivier bag is a given.

What do you guys think of this look?

Sometimes all it takes is some shimmer to lift your spirits. This Madewell sequin skirt is one of them. I love sequins on things, but rather than dress them up, I find it’s more fun to incorporate them into everyday casual looks. Here I paired this skirt with a simple white tee, a “tough” army jacket, and ankle boots. Pretty basic right? Great way to start this beautiful January here in lovely Cali! XO

Don’t you love when a pair of heels can make the remainder of your look seemingly effortless? These heels are exactly that. A simple turtleneck sweater and my basic black pants and the look is complete. Schutz Shoes was born in Brazil and the brand creates shoes that are sexy but completely wearable.

Designed in unique and beautiful navy blue calfhair with navy leather straps, these heels are one of the favorite items in my closet to date! What do you guys think of them? How would you style them?

I am sure we are all guilty of it – standing in front of our closets and looking at all the items hanging declaring, “I have nothing to wear!” While I will admit this probably happens to me more often than I would like to admit, there are some days when I pick out some of my favorite items that are “old” and wear them like I just bought them.

These leather pants, sweatshirt, and Louis Vuitton handbag are just those items. I stand behind the latest trend of sweatshirts becoming suitable for more than just a trip to the gym. This glorified sweatshirt was purchased a while ago from Zara. The leather pants are from ages ago, and they are such a nice alternative to jeans. The buttery soft leather is so luxurious and comfortable at the same time. The Louis Vuitton bag is a vintage bag handed down from my mother. Although not a choice I would probably buy for myself, I find myself drawn more and more to large satchel/duffle style bags like this one as I am now often toting around diapers, hankies, wipes, and other mom/baby related items!

What are some of your favorite pieces in your wardrobe?
