Stella Jean SS 2013

today’s closetcast: printed madness

I’m loving these flirty 50s inspired silhouettes from Haitian-Italian designer Stella Jean. Aren’t they so fun and vibrant? I’m also digging the way Moda Operandi merchandised these pieces, never fearing an unexpected mix of patterns… so fun! I have a gift certificate from Moda Operandi and may have to pick up one of these numbers before this sale closes up shop for the season!

jealous of bare legs in winter

a pop of florals to brighten up a winter’s day

Just some streetstyle looks I’m admiring this brisk and cool Friday. Loving bare legs and bright florals in winter. I’ll be posting an outfit post later this afternoon! Sorry for the lack in posts this week – it’s been a crazy one! XO

Trend Printing

today’s closetcast: follower

Hopping on the Aztec print trend-train with this incredibly cozy coat. Will last me through the winter no doubt, and does a nice job of sprucing up an otherwise simple t-shirt and jeans look. It’s really cold today, but I’m excited to have some homemade lattes to warm me up! (we just got a new espresso machine!)

Cinched

today’s closetcast: oversized

Love this patterned coat. Really oversized and extremely warm, I thought I would cinch the waist with a belt to give it form. The result is like a coat-dress hybrid. The material is a blanket – warm and cozy.

I would say this look is probably inspired by Miroslava. She has mastered the look of short skirts/dresses in the wintertime – showing off her legs and cinching bulky coats in at the waist to highlight her figure.

Striped Leopard

today’s closetcast: unexpected mix

Feeling a little random today. Not quite ready to get back into the grind of the week, but that is how I always feel after an extended weekend. Thought I would mix it up a little today, leopard with stripes and a vibrant mini – why not? I kept the accessories minimal to avoid look too busy.
