Pastel Polka

today’s closetcast: edgy tailoring

A nice pencil skirt can really add some curves, but there is something so stuffy about a head to toe “office-friendly” look. I mellowed out the business-like air of this tailored pencil skirt with the addition of a sherpa suede motorcycle jacket and a pair of suede ankle booties. I really like how the neutral skirt makes my black t-shirt and boots look like a vibrant color.

Pastel Fix

today’s closetcast: inspo Monday

Feeling fixed on the dreamy, washed out softness of a pastel color palette. All images via Pinterest. I’m getting into Pinterest, so follow me here!

: enchantment

I woke up this morning rested and looking forward to a warm February day! Buuuuut…. it was a little colder than yesterday. So, as I quickly snapped some shots this morning, more layers were gradually put on.

This beautiful Samantha Pleet dress is from Founders & Followers, a beautiful online boutique featuring fashion, art and editorial. I found out about the boutique through a coupon deal from Refinery29, and had a really hard time making a choice on what to get!

Samantha Pleet is a Brooklyn based fashion designer that uses organic materials whenever possible. She has been featured many times on the eco-fashion website, Ecouterre, a website that I also write for!

today’s closetcast: oldies

Couldn’t think of anything more creative to title this post. I am a bit out of sorts today, my procrastination caught up with me last night and as a result I am running on very little gas today.

In my sleepiness, I reached for this comfortable sweater that is actually my mom’s from ages ago. True vintage.

today’s closetcast:
rushed

A three day weekend has ended, but it didn’t really feel like a holiday… know what I mean? I always feel like there is so much to do, but all I can think about is having free time. Got dressed this morning to try and finish up the things I’ve been putting off for a while now.

Despite this rushing around I still managed to take a little time to admire our budding succulent pot. Reminds me that spring is just around the corner – but I can’t help but wonder – was there even a winter?
