today’s closetcast: down low
This is actually my mom’s navy blue suede coat from the 70s. It fits nearly perfectly, although the sleeves are a touch short (my mom is pretty petite), but I actually like it better that way. I can only really wear it on days like this, when it’s cool, but no chance of rain. Not really an all-weather coat. The seasons are definitely changing – as much as they can on the coast of California anyway.

today’s closetcast: casual cool
One of my favorite skirts. So comfortable and really easy to dress up or down. In luxurious silk, it’s a nice choice when it’s warm out, but not too hot to wear a maxi skirt. I’m looking forward to new ways to wear it this winter when it really starts to get chilly (well… California chilly). Pretty much accessorized with the same pieces as yesterday. Thought the denim shirt mixed with the menswear inspired gold watch was a nice contrast to such a feminine skirt. And of course the Rachel Comey boots.

today’s closetcast: bright!
Woke up this morning and the sun was out! Can’t believe it. First time in months. Got my Hope & May cowhide clutch this weekend and am in love. The store is in Byron Bay, Australia and the girls who own/manage it are the absolute sweetest! Isn’t it fabulous?! It’s large enough to hold an iPad or a 13″ computer, which means it’s large enough to hold all of the junk I accumulate on a daily basis. Feel a little strange about the whole cowhide thing after watching this amazing video my friend Haven showed me.
top: forever21, suede skirt, boots: rachel comey, watch: Michael Kors, bracelets: vintage
The Prada “Real Fantasies FW11 ” video lookbook. Plenty of mod 60s inspiration in the form of colorblocked swing dresses and knee high boots. I especially love all the feathers, sequins and wide hip-slung belts on wool coats. I love fall!
today’s closetcast: mixed up
Thought I would mix it up a little today with a soft, tea length chiffon skirt and a tough, fitted leather top. Add some stackable silver bangles and a framed satchel bag and my urban ladylike look is complete. It was a short week this week, but it felt long for some reason – I really hope the beach weather stays fog-free this weekend. Wouldn’t mind soaking up a little sun on my days off.
