Soft Suede

today’s closetcast: like a glove (almost)

Got this suede dress last year at H&M and love it so much. It’s a nice neutral color, the perfect length and did I mention suede? Practically fits like a glove and looks so polished all on its own. I have to take advantage of these rain-less days, as I won’t be able to venture outside in this once our winter starts – don’t want to ruin it or anything. The booties are the Donilon from Aldo. I really like how sleek they are and how they hit right below the ankle, so you can wear them with mini-dresses without making your legs look stumpy.

breakin’ the law

today’s closetcast: slouchy cool

Did a little friendly trespassing this morning to get these shots. Our neighbor has a cool little barn/shed on their property – thought it would create a nice contrast against this navy jumpsuit.

Got this jumpsuit recently from Pixie Market, a great site that features really unique items – most exclusive to them – if you find something you like, there isn’t much room for hesitation on purchasing, their great inventory runs out QUICK! This jumpsuit is so nice, slouchy and relaxed. Wish I got a better shot of the back, it buttons up and sort of swings out, giving a glimspe of your lower back. Sort of gives the illusion of a conservative piece from the front, with a hint of skin showing in the back. Love it.

B&W

today’s closetcast: brown and white

Thought I would do a little quickie black and white post because that is how it looked when I left the house this morning. Cold and gray! Living by the beach has some major perks, but these foggy cold mornings during summer are definitely not one of them. Feeling a little restless these days – antsy to take a trip somewhere, anywhere really.

About the look – the tee is just a simple one from Zara, the skirt from Asos last year. Still really like the fuller skirt and it hits a little below the knee. Both were easily paired it with my Rachel Comey boots. Didn’t really get a shot of the booties – but you can look to my past posts to check them out – I’ve been wearing them nonstop since I got them on Thursday.

Taking a Walk

today’s closetcast: casual silk

Wore this for a fun little date night out. A super casual and easy look. Was surprised to find this silk top at Forever 21 for under $30. The top drapes in that perfect way – was a great bargain find. The boots have barely left my  feet since they arrived, I’m loving them so much.

Neighborhood #1

today’s closetcast: cozy & handmade

Rarely get to take pictures at this time of day. The light was amazing today and a nice neighborhood walk was the perfect way to wind down an exhausting and crazy week. The topper? My new pair of Rachel Comey boots arrived via GimmeShoes, an amazing boutique shoe shop in San Francisco that has the best labels and chooses the most incredible designs. Such a selective and thoughtful inventory… I have no doubts I will be wearing these nonstop – they are so comfortable – but the beauty is in the details. Half suede & half leather with wood trim details – they are dreamy. I’ll try to take some close up shots soon.
